Woman, 80, Dies After Being Hit in Crosswalk

An elderly woman was struck by a car and fatally injured as she walked across a street in Glendale Thursday morning, police said.
The accident occurred at 9 a.m. in the 2300 block of Honolulu Avenue in the Montrose area, said Lt. Mark Distaso of the Glendale Police Department. Margaret Bellamy was in the crosswalk at the time, but the driver of the car was not arrested.
The woman was taken to Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills where she died of her injuries.
