The Face of Fear (CBS Sunday at 9 p.m.), a new TV movie, stars Lee Horsley and Pam Dawber as a psychic mountain climber and his girlfriend, a homicide psychologist, who become involved in a search for a serial killer.

Perry Mason: The Case of the Defiant Daughter (NBC Sunday at 9 p.m.) finds Mason (Raymond Burr) persuaded by a 13-year-old girl (Jenny Lewis) to defend her father (John Posey), charged with murdering a blackmailer (Robert Culp).

Dreamscape (Channel 11 Monday at 8 p.m.) is a mild 1984 diversion starring Dennis Quaid as a playboy whose ESP is exploited by his old professor (Max Von Sydow) for an ominous research project.

The Outsiders (Channel 13 Monday at 8 p.m.), Francis Ford Coppola’s 1983 film of the S. E. Hinton novel, is uneven, but Ralph Macchio, C. Thomas Howell, Patrick Swayze and Matt Dillon are memorable as mid-’60s, Midwestern small-town teen-agers.

Dana Delany and William Russ star in the new TV movie A Promise to Keep (NBC Monday at 9 p.m.), a drama about a poor couple with three children confronted with the responsibility of four orphaned nephews.

The Couch Trip (Channel 13 Tuesday at 8 p.m.) is a kind of comic “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” crossed with “Spellbound” and updated to the age of Dr. Toni Grant, but the mix doesn’t quite jell. Dan Aykroyd stars.

Gregory Harrison stars in the new TV movie Angel of Death (CBS Tuesday at 9 p.m.) as an escaped killer trying to track down a mother (Jane Seymour) and son (Brian Bonsall) whose picture he has seen on the back of a children’s book.

In the heavy-breathing, light-headed 1988 supernatural thriller The Seventh Sign (Channel 5 Wednesday at 8 p.m.), Apocalypse comes to Venice, Calif.--but it’s Apocalypse Chic, a GEO magazine Armageddon. Demi Moore stars.

Love and Bullets (Channel 11 Wednesday at 8 p.m.) stars Charles Bronson as a Phoenix cop off to Switzerland for the FBI to bring back Jill Ireland, the longtime mistress of Arizona-based underworld kingpin Rod Steiger.

Popeye (Channel 13 Friday at 8 p.m.) is Robert Altman’s ambitious but overly literal and heavy-handed attempt at a live-action musical cartoon. Robin Williams in the title role and Shelley Duvall as Olive Oyl are nonetheless a treat.

In the new TV movie Children of the Bride (CBS Friday at 9 p.m.) four mixed-up adults descend upon their mother (Rue McClanahan) just as she is to marry a younger man (Patrick Duffy).
