County Surfers Advance in Florida Tournament
Chris Billy of Dana Point was among several Orange County surfers who advanced through the second round of the $50,000 Op East championships Friday at Sebastian Inlet, Fla.
Billy won his second-round heat, as did Taylor Knox of Huntington Beach, Danny Melhado of San Clemente and Joey Zintel of Huntington Beach.
The surfers advanced to today’s main event first round against the top 32-seeded surfers.
