A 4-year-old girl who had fallen in a neighbor’s back-yard pool in Rosemead was revived Sunday by two children who lived in the home, fire officials said.

Cynthia Clark, 10, had been playing with a group of neighborhood youngsters at 5:45 p.m. and thought they might be hiding in her back yard, said her mother Margaret Clark. When Cynthia went into the yard, she saw the 4-year-old floating in the pool, her mother and Los Angeles County Fire Capt. Richard Raabe said.

“She pulled her out and screamed for help,” Raabe said. “Her brother, Phil, 13, went out and started CPR. The girl was unconscious, but soon started to gag and cough.”

Cynthia then called 911.

When paramedics arrived, the 4-year-old was standing with an adult in a driveway in the 3100 block of Prospect Avenue.

“She was pale, soaking wet and crying,” Raabe said.

The girl was taken to Garfield Hospital in Monterey Park where her condition was listed as stable with water in her lungs, the fire captain said.
