Buoyed by England’s impressive showing in this year’s World Cup and with evidence that crowd violence has declined, English soccer clubs are confident they can stage the world’s top international soccer tournament.
FIFA, soccer’s world body, will not decide upon the venue until the summer of 1992.
The 1994 World Cup will be held in the United States.
