7,000 Runners to Compete at Mt. SAC

The Mt. San Antonio College Cross-Country Invitational, the biggest high school cross-country meet in the West, will be held Saturday at Mt. SAC in Walnut, with more than 300 schools and 7,000 runners participating.
Headlining the boys’ division will be the team competition sweepstakes, featuring a showdown between California’s top team, Madera of the Central Section, and Page, Ariz.
In the girls’ division, three nationally ranked teams will battle for sweepstakes honors--Agoura, led by Deena Drossin; San Diego Mt. Carmel, and Arroyo Grande.
Some racing begins at 7:45 a.m., with the main competition starting at 9:45.
