In other Palomar League games:

University City 13, Mission Bay 7--Ian Krebs kicked field goals of 52 and 40 yards for University City (2-4, 1-1). Krebs, a basketball player and high jumper who is playing football for the first time this year as a senior, also intercepted a pass. His 52-yard field goal was two yards short of the school record set by Ron White in 1986. Marlon Gardinera rushed for 110 yards in 15 carries for Mission Bay (3-4, 0-2).

Avocado League

San Marcos 33, Rancho Bernardo 14--Mark Frazier led San Marcos with 165 yards in 20 carries. Lance Gallegos added 132 yards in seven carries. Rancho Bernardo quarterback Josh Stang completed 13 of 25 passes for 159 yards.

Ramona 21, Escondido 14--Tom Smith had touchdown runs of five and three yards to help Ramona (4-3, 2-2) to a 21-0 first-quarter lead. Keith Williams carried the ball 19 times for 73 yards and a touchdown for Escondido (5-2, 3-1).

El Camino 41, San Pasqual 14--Von Robinson ran for 132 yards and three touchdowns in 17 carries for El Camino (3-4, 3-1). El Camino’s Abdul McCullough returned an interception 50 yards for a touchdown, his third touchdown of the season on an interception. San Pasqual fell to 2-4-1, 1-2-1.

City Eastern League

Morse 60, Serra 8--Running back Gary Taylor, the second-leading rusher in the state, ran for 274 yards and four touchdowns in 17 carries, quarterback Teddy Lawrence ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns in five carries for Morse (7-0, 2-0), ranked 20th in the nation and first in the county. Morse’s Conan Smith rushed four times for 20 yards and two touchdowns. Serra (0-6-1, 0-1-1), which scored with :27 left, had minus-17 yards at the half and finished with 57 yards.

City Harbor League

Coronado 51, Clairemont 13--Marco Palumbo scored five touchdowns, four by rushing and one by receiving for Coronado (3-4, 1-1). Palumbo rushed for 173 yards in 18 carries. Adam Smith completed seven of nine passes for 158 yards and two touchdowns. Clairemont fell to 0-7.

St. Augustine 6, Marian 3 (California tie-breaker)--Marian (2-3, 0-2) had first position in the tie-breaker, but could only go six yards before Tony Acosta connected on a 26-yard field goal. Then St. Augustine (5-2, 2-0) took over at the 10. In three plays the Saints went only four yards. Instead of attempting a tying field goal on fourth down, Coach Marty Martins went for the victory. The ball went to Justin Williams, who carried it into the end zone from the six. St. Augustine’s John Mozerka gained 177 yards in 31 carries.

Grossmont 3-A League

Helix 38, El Capitan 0--Jarrett Parr ran for 114 yards and two touchdowns in 13 carries and Kenny Carter rushed for 58 yards in six carries for Helix (5-1, 1-0). Helix’s Chris Baker caught three passes for 70 yards, including a 16-yard touchdown pass. El Capitan fell to 0-7, 0-2.

Grossmont 2-A League

Metro Conference

Castle Park 12, Bonita Vista 6--Rudy Castillo caught a 55-yard pass from Ernesto Diaz in the fourth quarter to give Castle Park (4-3, 2-2) the victory. Castle Park’s Dujuan Franklin scored on a 80-yard punt return in the second quarter to tie the score, 6-6. Mike Nicita caught a 33-yard pass from Mike Barnett in the first quarter for Bonita Vista (1-6, 0-4).

Southwest 49, Hilltop 27--Riley Washington ran for 203 yards and six touchdowns in 23 carries to lead Southwest (4-3, 3-1). Washington now has 11 touchdowns in the past two weeks. Teammate Dwayne McBride gained 81 yards in five carries. Chad Barton added a 67-yard interception return. Hilltop (1-5, 0-4) was led by quarterback Anthony Munoz, who was 10 of 24 for 195 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Bobby Lugo caught three of Munoz’s passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.

Chula Vista 41, Montgomery 7--Steve Gomez carried the ball 10 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns for No. 10 Chula Vista (5-2, 4-0). Teammate Neviett Richardson had five carries for 117 yards and a touchdown. Gilbert Flores had a 41-yard run in the first quarter for Montgomery (3-4, 2-2).

Sweetwater 60, Mar Vista 6--David Gregorio completed nine of 16 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 73 yards in eight carries for Sweetwater (6-1, 4-0). Guillermo Arcadia caught two of Gregorio’s touchdown passes and finished with five receptions for 76 yards. Sweetwater Tai Lepule rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown in nine carries.

Nonleague

Point Loma 46, USDHS 10--No. 2 Point Loma (6-0) scored on three touchdown passes from Toby Gault, who completed five of nine for 134 yards. Shaunta Baker caught five passes for 156 yards, and four were for touchdowns. One of his touchdown catches was a halfback option from Marlon Manassa.
