THE SIDELINES : Ciccarelli Out With Broken Hand
Dino Ciccarelli, the Washington Capitals’ leading scorer last season, will be sidelined at least six weeks with a broken bone in his right hand.
Ciccarelli sustained the injury in Washington’s 4-0 victory over New Jersey on Saturday. Doctors will insert a pin in Ciccarelli’s hand on Tuesday, officials said.
That wasn’t the only dose of bad news from the training room. Doctors said left wing Alan May would miss at least a week because of a fractured knuckle in his left hand.
