Verdugo Hills 21, Hollywood 13--Senior Tim Fagan caught two touchdown passes and intercepted two fourth-quarter passes to lead the Dons to their first win of the season.
Hollywood (3-4, 0-4) outgained Verdugo Hills in total offense, 193 yards to 151. Most of the Sheik attack was generated by quarterback Jesse Elkins, who completed four of 10 for 45 yards and a touchdown and ran for 65 yards in 12 carries.
Verdugo Hills (1-6) tied the score in the third quarter when quarterback Noel Alvarado looped a nine-yard pass to Fagan. Robert Servellon’s extra point put the Dons ahead for good. For the game, Alvarado completed seven of 15 for 79 yards and two touchdowns.
The Dons allowed only 24 yards in the second half. In the fourth quarter, Wade Webster ran for two yards to give the Dons a 21-13 edge.
