CROSS-COUNTRY ROUNDUP

In the Angelus League cross-country finals at La Mirada Park, St. John Bosco won the boys’ competition and Santa Margarita was the girls’ champion.

Led by individual champion Kristen Matheson, Santa Margarita had five of the top 10 finishers in the girls’ race and second-place Mater Dei had three. Mater Dei’s Diane Chonette and Jennifer Schuller finished second and third, respectively, with teammate Melanie Monge eighth. For Santa Margarita, Amy Markel was fifth, Katheryn Dullack seventh, Jamie Donnelly ninth and Kathleen Donnelly 10th.

Santa Margarita’s fourth-place finish was the best by a county school in the boys’ meet.
