COLLEGE FOOTBALL REPORT : WEEKDAY UPDATE : SAN DIEGO STATE : Receivers Attribute Success to Coach

Share

In celebration of receiver coach Curtis Johnson’s birthday, receiver Patrick Rowe thought it was a good time to pay tribute to his coach.

“I attribute all of our success to C.J.,” Johnson said. “He’s brought out the best in all of us this year. And I’m not afraid to say that we have best receivers in the nation.”

Rowe became the fifth receiver in Aztec history to have five consecutive 100-yard games with his seven-catch, 120-yard performance Saturday against Utah. Rowe and Dennis Arey each are averaging more than 100 yards a catch this season.

Trainer Brian Barry said he expects every player to be ready for Saturday’s home game against Hawaii, including cornerback Clark Moses (stomach flu) and offensive tackle Judd Rachow (knee strain), who missed the Utah game.
