PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAMS : Everett Says He’s Not in a Slump

Share

Although Jim Everett is off his 4,310-yard, 29-touchdown, 58.7% completion pace of last season and his numbers the last three weeks are especially dull--one touchdown against six interceptions, an average of only 193 passing yards a game--he denies he is having an off year.

“I definitely don’t think that I’m in a slump,” Everett said. “I think there’s some desperation numbers that you look at as far as we’re getting behind and trying to make certain things happen.

“I feel that I’m definitely pressing on that point. But as for being in a slump, no, I wouldn’t call it that.”

The Rams had 2,301 unsold tickets at the 72-hour deadline Thursday, so Sunday’s game against Dallas at Anaheim Stadium will be blacked out locally. . . . Starting outside linebacker Mike Wilcher, listed as questionable with a head injury, is still experiencing headaches and may not be able to play Sunday.
