COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Anteater Women Lose to Bulgarians, 82-56
Yvonne Catala scored 19 points for UC Irvine but the Anteaters lost to the Bulgarian National team, 82-56, in an exhibition women’s basketball game Sunday at Bren Center.
Jenny Lee was the only other Irvine player in double figures with 16. Kathy Lizzaraga had eight for the Anteaters, including two three-point baskets.
Polina Tzekova scored 28 points and Lalka Horozova added 20 for Bulgaria.
In a nonconference men’s basketball game:
San Jose Bible 81, Pacific Christian 76--Mike Vincent scored 20 points, Kenny Crawford 18 and Kenny Kao 15 for Pacific Christian (6-2) at Valencia High School.
