Head-On Crash in Palmdale Kills Young Boy
One person was killed and several others injured in a head-on traffic collision in Palmdale Friday night, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
The name of the victim was not released, pending notification of relatives. He was described only as a young boy.
The accident occurred about 5:15 p.m., Deputy Charles Grantham said.
One driver was traveling east on Avenue S near 37th Street East when she lost control of her car and skidded head-on into the westbound lane, striking a four-wheel-drive vehicle carrying seven people.
The vehicle rolled over several times, ejecting some of the passengers and killing one, Grantham said.
The injured were taken to local hospitals.
The extent of their injuries was not known, he said.
