The White Sox will offer a three-year contract to American League Cy Young Award winner Bob Welch, Chicago General Manager Ron Schueler said, adding that a deal in the range of $4 million a year was “in the ballpark.”

Schueler, who said he helped bring Welch to Oakland while working in the club front office, said, “At least 10 or 12 other teams are interested in Welch.”
