Pedestrian Struck, Killed on Highway
Aman believed to be in his mid-50s was struck by a car and killed as he walked along a highway in Canyon Country on Monday evening, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The identity of the man was not immediately known.
The accident occurred about 6:30 p.m. on Sierra Highway, 1 1/2 miles north of Davenport Road, CHP Officer Howard Daily said. Los Angeles County Fire Captain Gary McPeak said the man was hit on a very dark stretch of the highway and knocked 20 feet down an embankment.
