THE SIDELINES : Harding Wins, Title Bout Next
Former World Boxing Council light-heavyweight champion Jeff Harding of Australia outpointed David Vedder of San Jose today in a 10-round non-title fight at the Hordern Pavilion.
Harding dominated Vedder with his left jab to improve his record to 19-1. Vedder, the United States Boxing Assn. champion, dropped to 14-10-3.
Harding won by margins of three, six and eight points on the three judges cards. He is contracted to fight the winner of next month’s WBC title fight between Detroit-based Briton Dennis Andries and Australian challenger Guy Waters.
