WOMEN’S COLLEGE BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Titans’ Miller Has 30 Points, Six Blocks
Senior center Genia Miller scored 30 points and blocked six shots to lead the Cal State Fullerton women’s basketball team to an 85-63 victory over the University of San Diego Saturday in Titan Gym.
Junior guard Joey Ray added 18 points, including 12 in the first half when she made five of six shots. Ray had nine rebounds, five assists and five steals, and Claudette Jackson added 17 points and seven rebounds for Fullerton.
The Titans (5-2) scored 11 consecutive points midway through the first half to take a 19-5 lead. They increased the margin to 43-21 by halftime and 63-29 midway through the second half.
Miller made 13 of 19 shots and Fullerton point guard Michelle Hennessey finished with nine assists. Chris Enger led the Toreros (2-5) with 15 points.
