COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Reserves Lead SCC Over Occidental

Fueled by 42 points from its reserves, the Southern California College men’s basketball team defeated Occidental, 99-81, Monday in a nonconference game at SCC.

Occidental made all six of its three-point shots in the first half and trailed, 50-40, at the half. The Tigers, who made 10 of 16 three-point attempts, then closed to within two points with about 17 minutes remaining before the Vanguards pulled away.

Jeff Bickmore scored 16 points and Mike Henjum and Bryan Moore each had 13 for the Vanguards (10-2), who shot 57% from the field in the first half.

Rod Leinbach, who made five of six three-point shots, scored 19 to lead Occidental. Everette Hill and Brett Dennis each added 15 for the Tigers.

Pacific Christian 96, Loma Linda 78--Kenny Crawford had 29 points and 14 rebounds, Mike Vincent had 23 points and 11 rebounds and Kenny Kao had 21 points for Pacific Christian (11-7) at Cal State Fullerton’s Titan Gym. Loma Linda is 1-8.

In a California Coastal Conference women’s basketball game:

Pacific Christian 65, Loma Linda 38--Donna Allen had 15 points for host PCC (5-6).
