Penguins Trade Brown, Get Whalers’ Young

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins today traded right wing Rob Brown to the Hartford Whalers in exchange for right wing Scott Young.
Brown had six goals and 10 assists in 25 games with the team this season.
Brown, 22, had 112 goals and 142 assists in 124 games with the Penguins.
In 34 games with the Whalers this season, Young posted six goals and nine assists.
Young, 23, has scored 49 goals and 89 assists in 197 games with the Whalers.
The 6-foot, 190-pound right wing played on the U.S. hockey team in the 1988 Olympics.
