BREA : Teen Arrested in Slaying at Party

Police arrested an Anaheim youth Thursday for allegedly threatening witnesses to the stabbing death of Ty Aaron Stout, who was killed Dec. 8. during a scuffle at a well-publicized high school party in Yorba Linda.

The 17-year-old juvenile, who was not identified, belonged to the same gang as slaying suspects Richard Velasco, 19, and Dennis Scott Kidd, 22, police said. He was arrested at Riceland High School in Orange, where he was threatening to kill witnesses if they talked about the stabbing, according to Brea Police Detective Terry Fincher.

Fincher said three search warrants also were served Thursday in connection with the police investigation for residences at 390 Lakedale Drive and 318 N. Kodiak St., Apartment A, both in Anaheim, and 14277 Cholla Drive in Moreno Valley. Items were seized, but police would not disclose what they found. No arrests were made.

On Dec. 8, Stout, 23, was stabbed after he and a second stabbing victim tried to throw Velasco out of a party, which had been widely publicized in a flyer and which attracted about 200 youths.

Stout, a Placentia resident, died en route to the hospital.
