In the San Dieguito boys’ basketball tournament:

Newport Harbor 72, Rancho Buena Vista 64--Justin McIntee scored 36 points and grabbed 17 rebounds and Huy Nguyen scored 12 points for Newport Harbor.

Dana Hills 75, Vista 63--Keith Barnett scored 22 points and 14 rebounds and Derrick Walsh 21 for Dana Hills (6-4).

In the Brea-Olinda boys’ basketball tournament:

Sunny Hills 73, Whittier Christian 60--Dominic Carnesi scored 20 points and Terry Mann had 16 for Sunny Hills in an opening round game. Ruben Oronoz had 20 points for Whittier Christian.

In the Hesperia Christian boys’ basketball tournament:

Liberty Christian 89, Christian Center of Colton 58--Dave Kellams scored 28 points, as Liberty Christian (4-7) captured seventh place.

In the South Torrance boys’ soccer tournament

Ocean View 2, Palos Verdes 0--Ocean View (7-1-1) defeated two-time defending Southern Section 4-A Division champion Palos Verdes (7-1-1) to win the title.

In the Orange boys’ soccer tournament:

Laguna Hills 4, Trabuco Hills 3 (OT)--The game ended tied, 2-2, at end of regulation and Laguna Hills outscored Trabuco Hills 2-1 in the two overtime periods to win the in the consolation championship. Juan Strutton and Giuseppe Lombardo scored for Laguna Hills in the first overtime period.

La Serna 1, Servite 0--Michael Hartman scored the lone goal about 10 minutes in the second half, as La Serna (6-2-2) captured third place.

In nonleague boys’ soccer:

San Clemente 3, Loara 0--Adrian McSorley scored two goals and Brett Roelen scored one on an assist by McSorley for visiting San Clemente (1-6).

In the Cerritos girls’ soccer tournament:

El Toro 8, Temple City 1--Shawn Viloria scored four goals for top-ranked El Toro in a championship semifinal. Shannon deAvila, Jenny Kleugel, Kelly Thomson and Jenny Claybaugh each scored for El Toro (11-0). In a quarterfinal, El Toro defeated Los Los Alamitos 1-0.
