Pygmalion (KCET Channel 28 Sunday at 2 p.m.) Wendy Hiller made a dazzling film debut in the sleek, mint-fresh 1938 film of the Shaw play, and her Eliza Doolittle is utterly convincing in progress from guttersnipe to grande dame. Eliza’s Henry Higgins is Leslie Howard, splendidly cast against type; Howard co-directed with Anthony Asquith.

Silents Night: On Monday (Christmas Eve), TNT will present four silent features starting with Ben-Hur (1926) at 5 p.m., followed at 8 p.m. by Victor Seastrom’s The Wind (1928) which features one of Lillian Gish’s greatest performances as a young woman driven mad by the harshness of frontier life. Then, Greed, Erich Von Stoheim’s legendary film of Frank Norris’ “McTeague,” at 9:45 p.m. The concluding film (at 12:45 a.m.) is the stupendous yet lively biblical spectacle Noah’s Ark (1929), starring Dolores Costello and George O’Brien and directed by Michael Curtiz from Darryl Zanuck’s script.

The Boy Friend (TNT Thursday at 11:15 p.m.) Ken Russell’s stylish, engaging film of the ‘20s-era musical stars a delectable Twiggy.
