A San Diego man was found beaten and stabbed to death in his hotel room Monday morning, apparently the victim of a robber, authorities said.
Prospero Francis, 67, was found in the living room of his hotel room, in the 500 block of 12th Avenue, where neighbors said he had lived for 30 years, said San Diego Police Lt. Dan Berglund. The hotel room had been ransacked.
Neighbors told police they had last seen Francis on Sunday night. A neighbor who went to feed Francis’ dog Monday morning called police, Berglund said.
