Reserve guard Michael Joiner has left the University of Cincinnati basketball team and says he plans to transfer to another school.

Joiner, a 6-3 sophomore guard from Hollywood, Fla., did not return to the Bearcats after Christmas break. He told Cincinnati Coach Bob Huggins he was unhappy with his limited playing time.

“He said he didn’t feel, with the people we had here at the position he played, that he was ever going to be more than a role player,” Huggins said.
