PRO FOOTBALL REPORT / WEEKDAY UPDATE : RAIDERS : Report Jackson to Sit Out Denied

Raider Coach Art Shell dismissed a report that tailback Bo Jackson won’t play in Sunday’s regular-season finale against the San Diego Chargers, to rest a sore ankle for the playoffs.

“It’s news to me,” Shell said.

Injury report: Raider linebacker Jerry Robinson (hand) and cornerback Lionel Washington (hamstring) are listed as probable for Sunday’s game at the Coliseum.

San Diego running back Marion Butts (foot) and defensive end Burt Grossman (ribs) are listed as doubtful. The Chargers are expected to place Grossman on the injured reserve list and activate quarterback John Friesz before the game. Wide receiver Nate Lewis (wrist), safety Lester Lyles (knee), tackle Joel Patton (neck) and wide receiver Walter Wilson (thigh) are questionable. Defensive end Gerald Robinson (elbow) and linebacker Billy Ray Smith (elbow) are probable.
