Valley College offensive lineman Eric Sims and Glendale defensive back Ron Morgan have decided where they will continue their football careers in the fall.

Sims, an All-Western State Conference Southern Division selection, made an oral commitment Wednesday to attend the University of New Mexico, and Morgan, an All-WSC Northern Division honorable-mention selection, signed a letter of intent with Weber State on Tuesday.

Sims (6-foot-4, 298 pounds) cannot sign a letter of intent until the Feb. 6 signing date, by which time he is expected to have his Associate of Arts degree.

Morgan (5-8 1/2, 175) had one interception and 35 individual tackles, the third-highest total on the team.

Glendale Coach John Cicuto said that Glendale kicker-punter Martin Boskovich, a first-team WSC Northern Division selection, will walk on at USC after rejecting a full athletic scholarship to the University of the Pacific.

Boskovich made nine of 12 field-goal attempts and 38 of 40 point-after kicks last season. He punted 25 times for a 40.3 average.

Mary Strong of Notre Dame High has orally committed to play volleyball at Loyola Marymount next fall on a full scholarship.

Strong, a 5-10 outside hitter, led Notre Dame to a 15-4 record last fall and was named the most valuable player in the Mission League.
