SHOOTING STAR: Robert Moore Jr. of San Clemente High School was on the bus to the basketball game at El Toro High when he got the news about the start of fighting in the gulf. The 17-year-old thought of his father, a Marine gunnery sergeant on the front lines (B3). “My dad always pressed me to play sports,” Moore said. . . . “I thought about him and just played the game for him.” Moore notched 12 points, making crucial shots in his team’s 67-64 win. Said the school principal, “His heart was in the gulf, but his head was in the gym.”
