SIDELINES : Ewing Leads Knicks Past 76ers
Patrick Ewing scored six of his 37 points in overtime and the New York Knicks took advantage of six technical fouls today to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers, 117-116.
Ewing tied the score at 111 with 2:56 left in the extra period, then gave the Knicks the lead for good with a basket 33 seconds later.
Hersey Hawkins scored 35 for the 76ers, who again played without their injured star, Charles Barkley.
Ewing and teammate Charles Oakley each grabbed 16 rebounds, and Oakley scored 20 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter.
