Kelly Out and In: KNBC Channel 4 has decided to continue the 3 p.m. newscast it tried out last Thursday and Friday to provide additional coverage of the Persian Gulf War. So beginning today, “Donahue” will move to 9 a.m.--displacing “Kelly & Gail,” a talk show featuring Gail Parent and the station’s own Kelly Lange, which has been shelved, and “Wheel of Fortune,” which will now be seen at 3 a.m. Lange and John Beard will host the 3 p.m. newscast, which KNBC said will continue “until the fall or as long as events and viewer interest warrant.” KNBC’s 3 p.m. news will last 30 minutes, followed by an early feed of “NBC Nightly News” from 3:30 to 4. KCBS Channel 2 also is launching an hourlong local newscast at 3 p.m. today to deal with war-related news, anchored by Tritia Toyota and Michael Tuck.
