USA Today to Launch Baseball Weekly: It said the tabloid will debut in April. It will compete with such papers as the National, the daily sports tab that celebrates its first anniversary Thursday, and Sporting News, a weekly published by Times Mirror Co. USA Today Baseball Weekly will debut during one of the weakest periods for advertising spending growth in 20 years. The tabloid will publish every week during baseball season and every other week in the off-season.
