Yes, Giants Were Super, but Did the Bills Get Credit They Deserved?
After reading your coverage of the Super Bowl, one would believe that the Giants were the only team that played well on Sunday: Not one article from the Bills’ perspective, not one interview with the Bills or their coaching staff. Just feature after feature on the Giants, Bill Parcells, and how “power football” had won the game.
I can hardly believe that The Times’ sportswriters and I were watching the same game. Didn’t anybody notice that the Bills nearly won it? Would their overall performance have deserved any more credit if, on the final field goal, that ball had hooked three feet to the left? Get real and give some coverage to both sides of a great game.
