A registered sex offender who molested three boys during nighttime burglaries in El Cajon was sentenced Thursday to 32 years and four months in state prison.

The long term was given to Everette Kite, 21, of El Cajon by Superior Court Judge Thomas Whelan, who noted that Kite was on probation for a 1989 kidnaping and sex offense when he was arrested.

The parents of some of the boys testified about the effect the molestation had on their children, all of whom were between 2 and 4 1/2 years old.

Deputy Dist. Atty. John Williams told Whelan that Kite “stalked his victims, choosing them carefully. He determined where they lived, what bedroom they slept in. . . . The only remorse Mr. Kite has is the remorse he feels that he got caught.”

Kite did not know any of the parents or victims.

Kite’s attorney, William Rafael, suggested a term of 18 years and eight months, noting that that was the minimum sentence Kite could receive.

Kite pleaded guilty Dec. 3 to molesting the three boys and burglary.
