Agassi, Sampras to Play in Exhibition Saturday

Andre Agassi and Pete Sampras will play an exhibition Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Rancho Bernardo Inn.

It will be a rematch of the 1990 U.S. Open finals in which Sampras won his first Grand Slam title.

Part of the proceeds will benefit San Diego State’s Aztec Athletic Foundation. Tickets are available through Teleseat. MEN’S BASKETBALL

X-rays confirmed Monday that Joe McNaull, a forward on the San Diego State basketball team, has a broken nose. McNaull, who is averaging four points and four rebounds a game, was injured when he caught an elbow in the nose in practice Friday in Laramie, Wyo.

He played 16 minutes in SDSU’s 95-83 victory Saturday over Wyoming and scored two points and had two rebounds. He is not expected to miss any games.

Rusty Fallin, a 6-foot-4 junior forward, was the only Point Loma Nazarene College player selected to the All-Golden State Athletic Conference team. Scot Patterson, a 6-3 senior guard from Fresno Pacific College, was named player of the year. WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

Point Loma Nazarene College had two players named to the All-District 3 team, senior forward Shannon Abrams and junior guard Camille Armijo. Also, PLNC’s Cristy Stevens, a freshman guard, made the second team. Sonja Akkerman, a 6-2 senior center from California Baptist College, was named player of the year.
