A 79-year-old man was found beaten to death in the living room of his Southeast San Diego home Wednesday morning, authorities said.
The body of Harry L. Budd, a retired U.S. Postal Service worker, was found at 7:39 a.m. by police officers responding to a call from a concerned neighbor, police spokesman Lt. Dan Berglund said.
Police discovered the front door of the residence in the 4400 block of Ocean View Boulevard unlocked, and found the living room splattered with blood, Berglund said. Budd apparently had been beaten severely on the head.
A Cuban woman who was staying at the home was being sought for questioning, Berglund said. A motive has not been established.
