Rancho Santiago Scores Three in the Seventh, Beats Saddleback
cho Santiago scored three runs in the seventh inning to break open a close game and went on to a 7-1 victory over Saddleback in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Saturday in Santa Ana.
Raul Rodarte started the seventh with a home run (his sixth). Steve Grack capped the inning with a two-run triple to left-center field. Octavio Medina hit a bases-empty home run in the eighth, his second of the season.
Rancho Santiago (17-3, 3-0 in conference) also got run-scoring hits from Sean Ramos, Jeff White and Mark Wasikowski.
Mark Wells doubled and Ryan Relph followed with an RBI single in the fourth for Saddleback (5-8, 0-3). The Gauchos’ Rob Nye extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single in the seventh.
