Police and the California Highway Patrol are investigating three accidents that killed three people in San Diego over the past two days.

Police believe Timothy Byrd, 28, was killed by a hit-and-run driver about 4:10 a.m. Friday while he walked across the 5100 block of Imperial Avenue near his Southeast San Diego home, police spokesman Bill Robinson said.

Police are seeking witnesses as well as the vehicle, which police believe headed west on Imperial Avenue, Robinson said. Byrd was pronounced dead at the scene, said Ken Bell of the coroner’s office.
