Kerlegan Wins Independent Honors

Cal State Northridge guard Kyle Kerlegan was named to the 11-member All-Independent honorable-mention team Thursday in a vote of sports information directors from NCAA Division I basketball independents.

Kerlegan, a senior from San Bruno, Calif., led CSUN in scoring with a 12.9 average and was second among players from Division I independents in three-point baskets made with 98.

CSUN junior David Swanson was fifth nationally among players from independent schools in three-point field-goal percentage at 42%, freshman Andre Chevalier tied for seventh with 58 steals, and junior Shelton Boykin tied for 18th in rebounding average at 6.82 a game.
