The next track event will be the women’s 400-meter relay at 11.

Jeff deLaveaga, Cal Lutheran junior guard, was selected as a National Assn. of Intercollegiate Athletics All-American honorable mention.

The 6-foot-4 deLaveaga averaged 27.9 points a game, led District 3 players in scoring and twice was chosen district player of the week. DeLaveaga’s brother Steve, who also played at Cal Lutheran, was a third-team All-American in 1989.

Deena Drossin of Agoura High will run in the World Junior (ages 14-19) cross-country championships in Antwerp, Belgium, on Sunday. Drossin, the three-time state Division I cross-country champion, finished 72nd in last year’s meet in France.

Jodi Larson, a hurdler and long jump specialist at Crescenta Valley High, will be sidelined indefinitely after sustaining a dislocated right knee cap, Coach Keith Gilliland said. Larson originally injured the knee during soccer season and aggravated it while running in track, Gilliland said.

The Falcon junior timed 16.5 seconds in the 100-meter low hurdles and leaped 16 feet 4 inches in the long jump.

The Quartz Hill Relays, scheduled for March 2 but postponed until April 6 because of rain, has been canceled because of lack of participation, Quartz Hill High Coach Don Crimin said. Ten teams were slated to compete, but because of the many rainouts in March, Crimin could not find a mutually acceptable date in April for the teams.
