1 Killed, 1 Wounded in Anaheim Shooting

One man was shot to death and another wounded Saturday when at least one gunman entered their apartment and fired several shots, police said.

The shooting occurred about 9:15 p.m. in an apartment in the 1100 block of North Mayfair Avenue, police Lt. Marc Hedgpeth said. Police had few details of the incident and speculated that it may have been an attempted robbery.

They said it was not known if the shooting was gang related.

Hedgpeth said at least one gunman and possibly two entered the apartment and fatally shot one victim in the chest and wounded another with a shot in the arm.

The victim shot in the chest was taken to Anaheim Memorial Hospital, where he died, Hedgpeth said. It was not clear whether there were other victims, Hedgpeth said. The suspects fled on foot, and no arrests have been made, he added.
