Former Angel infielder Mark McLemore, a nonroster player who has virtually assured himself of a job with Houston, raised his exhibition average to .545 with a double and two singles in the Astros’ 8-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox.
Left-hander Jim Deshaies allowed the Red Sox only two singles in six innings for the Astros.
