A man who was stabbed at the Greyhound-Trailways bus depot near downtown Los Angeles was in stable condition Tuesday after surgery.

“The victim refused to give his name,” said Los Angeles Police Officer Bob England of the Central Station. The man was in stable condition at Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center after more than 90 minutes of surgery overnight, England said.

Police said the stabbing occurred about 10:30 p.m. Monday in the bus station at 6th and Los Angeles streets, but it was unclear why it took place.
