Costa Mesa’s Schwartz Wins Scratch Main Event

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event in front of 3,119 in the weekly speedway program Friday at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Shawn McConnell of Brea was second, Josh Larsen of Newport Beach third and Louis Kossuth of Diamond Bar fourth.

Doug Bowers of Bellflower won the eight-lap handicap main event. McConnell was second, Mike Faria of Colton was third, Chris Manchester of Hesperia was fourth and Kossuth was fifth, Phil Collins of Costa Mesa was sixth, Mark Hannah of Sunset Beach seventh.
