Well-Dressed Gunman Holds Up Brink’s Truck

A well-dressed gunman robbed a Brink’s driver Tuesday in front of a California Overseas Bank branch and fled with an undetermined amount of money, police said. There were no arrests by late Tuesday, authorities said.

The Brink’s truck had pulled up in front of the bank in the 3700 block of Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles just before 10 a.m., said Police Detective Jimmy Grayson. As the Brink’s employee walked toward the bank, a man wearing a dark suit, white shirt and tie stopped him and pointed a handgun, Grayson said.

The robber seized the money bag, saw it was empty and ordered the driver to put money in it. The driver complied, Grayson said. The robber took the driver’s .38-caliber revolver, then sprinted through a courtyard to a white Suzuki Samurai, where another man was waiting behind the wheel. The men drove off.
