Dodger Fan Is Urging Padre Backers to Quit While They’re Behind
Please Bob Nightengale, no more stories on the “Love Boat” Padres. As a San Diego-born Dodger fan, you know, as well as I do, that the minute the Padres have a two- or three-game losing streak, these things will happen:
1. Someone will rip Tony Gwynn for being a selfish player.
2. Greg Riddoch will be accused of over-managing.
3. Joe McIllvaine will be chastised as a “moron.”
4. Attendance at Jack Murphy Stadium will fall below the 10,000 mark.
Wise up, Padre fans! You’ve seen it every year. When you get over your pennant fever, either go to the beach or drive down the freeway to watch the L.A. Dodgers.
