Slugger May Return to Kentucky: After 18 years, the maker of the Louisville Slugger may finally be able to justify the name of the famous baseball bat again. Hillerich & Bradsby Co., which has been building the bats near Jeffersonville, Ind., wants to build a new plant within Louisville’s waterfront-redevelopment area, possibly in connection with a baseball museum and corporate office complex, the company disclosed. The company moved across the Ohio River to Jeffersonville in 1972 because it couldn’t find a suitable location for a new facility in Louisville.
