Cooper, Esquinas Reveal Agreement for Arena Sale
San Diego Sports Arena owners Harry G. Cooper and Richard Esquinas said Tuesday they have signed a definitive stock purchase agreement with the Hahn Group and have consented to sell the Sports Arena.
The agreement, which includes the Hahn Group’s purchase of the San Diego Gulls’ International Hockey League franchise, calls for a July 1 closing date. Terms of the agreement were not released.
It also was announced that Esquinas will replace Cooper as chairman of the board of San Diego Entertainment Inc., which operates the Sports Arena and the Gulls. Vin Cirruzzi will continue as president of both. Cooper will remain as chairman of the board and chief executive officer of San Diego Arena Corp., the holding company of San Diego Entertainment Inc.
