Police detectives said Wednesday they have no motive in a murder-suicide case involving a Hillcrest couple.

The bodies of the couple, whom county medical examiner’s officials identified as Kennelyn Salomon, 30, and her boyfriend, Noel F. Castro, 30, were found shortly after 8 p.m. Tuesday in their Hillcrest apartment, the 3600 block of 1st Avenue, Sgt. Chuck Peck said.

Solomon’s sister told police that, after not hearing from her sister for three days, she became worried and decided to go look for her. The sister, who was accompanied by her husband and the apartment building manager, entered the couple’s home and found Salomon in the bathroom and Castro just outside it.

Lt. Dan Berglund, San Diego police homicide detective, said none of the neighbors had heard any disturbance and that “we spoke to the sister and she was unaware of any problems between the two.”

Berglund said investigators believe the man shot the woman before turning a semiautomatic handgun on himself.
