A judge Thursday ordered three Argentine soccer players and their coach not to leave Chile until he rules on charges they assaulted newsmen during a South American club championship semifinal at Santiago.

The match between Boca Juniors and Chilean champions Colo Colo broke out in fighting in the 82nd minute Wednesday night after a disputed goal that gave the home side a 3-1 victory.

Sports commentators said the Argentine players began punching local photographers who crowded onto the field to take pictures of the scorer.
