SPORTS ON WEEKEND TV
The Indianapolis 500 is the top sports event on television this weekend. Included are two NBA playoff games, two Dodger baseball games and possibly the deciding game of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Auto Racing: Coverage of the 75th Indianapolis 500 begins at 8 a.m. Sunday on Channels 7, 3, 10 and 42. The race is scheduled to start at 9.
Pro Basketball: Game 3 of the Chicago Bulls-Detroit Pistons Eastern Conference finals series airs at 12:30 p.m. today on Channels 4, 36 and 39. The same stations carry Game 4 of the Lakers-Portland Trail Blazers Western Conference finals series at 12:30 p.m. Sunday.
Baseball: The Dodgers visit the World Series champion Cincinnati Reds for a game today at 10:15 a.m. on Channels 2 and 8, and one on Sunday at 11:15 a.m. on KTTV Channel 11.
Hockey: The Pittsburgh Penguins, who hold a 3-2 edge, can clinch their first Stanley Cup with a victory over the Minnesota North Stars today in Game 6 of the best-of-7 series. SportsChannel’s coverage begins at 5 p.m. The game can be seen on a pay-per-view basis in the San Diego area.
